Product Review

iPhone Application: My Fitness Pal

Adding this application to my phone was pretty straightforward and best of all, it is free.  I thought there may have been a trick set up to it, as some free applications require you to upgrade at a later date because you've exhausted its use and that's when you have to pay.  But, to my surprise I found nothing like that with this application.
The interface of the application is straightforward and super easy to add the data.
Your weight and goal weight and your height and the amount of exercise you are currently doing.  You have the added bonus of adding other friends as well, yet the privacy of your weight is maintained at all times.  Which is fortunate for me as no way am I disclosing that bad boy to anyone until later.

So I added in the required information and then I was ready to track my goals on a daily and weekly basis and then I was able to enter food into the food diary.  It tells you how much calories you are able to consume in the day, then once you have added your foods it will tell you how much you have consumed at any time.  If your phone has the ability to do it, you can use the scanner to track your calories.  I think that is a very flash application extra indeed.

I am only in day 5 of using it and I love it.  You can set it up to remind you to add your breakfast for the morning, which for me is a little reminder to make sure your eating and logging in your intake.  I actually get pretty excited using this.

One other cool thing is, when you log in your exercise for the day.  It will calculate how much you would weigh if you continued that amount of activity and ate that amount of calories, in 5 weeks time.  Which came close to almost 15 kg in weight loss.  If those figures dont motivate you then shucks you are a dead fish.

Well done to this application I say.
